Planning Permission For Glass Extensions?

Porches are considered permitted development, not requiring an application for planning permission, provided conditions are met. The planning rules for porches are applicable to any external door to the dwelling and Mainstream Windows can assist with any necessary liaison with local planners, if required.

This can involve a dwarf-wall brick base, low-maintenance Upvc infill panels or using full-height glass for extra light. Porches are also available with polycarbonate, glass or even tiled roofs to suit your specifications.

Our service includes matching your existing brickwork and completing the construction with Upvc guttering, drainpipes, internal finishing and any electrical work required. Mainstream can also supply a choice of GRP composite doors or Upvc door panels to complete your new porch that will provide a flexible and welcome extension to your entrance. Composite doors are available in a wide range of colours and finishes to complement existing windows and doors, providing a smart and secure finishing touch to your new porch.
